- W3217217900 abstract "Circular dichroism (CD) effect of chiral nanostructures has been studied for many years. Most of those CD effects are always generated by the elaborately designed chiral nanostructure which partly narrow the application of CD effect. In this work, the CD effect of an achiral metal nanostructure was induced by a graphene grating which modulates the CD effect flexibly by changing its Fermi energy. Calculated results show as the Fermi energy of graphene grating increased, the induced CD effect of metal nanostructure was blue-shifted. Meanwhile, spectra of the graphene-metal nanostructure system exhibit Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) like behavior. Furthermore, the Quality factor of both EIT-like behavior and CD modes can be optimized by adjusting the geometrical parameters of graphene grating. This study demonstrates a remarkable design for generating and modulating CD effect, which broadens the applications of CD effect significantly." @default.
