- W3217552004 abstract "Biomass refers to carbon-based materials derived from complexes of organic and inorganic materials or living matter either from the natural or anthropogenic source. The production of renewable energy options to replace traditional fossil fuels is necessitated by fossil fuel constraints, rising prices, and the advent of global environmental issues. Thermochemical processes can turn biomass into biofuels and bioproducts, which has a lot of potential as a substitute source of energy. Pyrolysis is the most effective technique for converting biomass-based waste into value-added liquid, gaseous and solid products by heating in a deoxygenated atmosphere among all the available techniques. Biochar is a carbonaceous material with many applications in soil quality, water supply management, climate stability, energy generation and conservation. Pyrolysis conditions have a major impact on the concentrations and properties of this product. The organic elements of biomass, as well as pyrolytic process parameters such as time, temperature, heating intensity, carrier gas, carrier gas flow rate, and pressure influence the properties of biochar. Slow pyrolysis, low carrier gas flow rate, low heating rate, high pressure, longer residence time, low temperature, and feedstocks with high lignin content were found to be suitable conditions for biochar production. Biochar has desirable fuel properties and may be a reasonable way to solve some of the core problems with biomass as a fuel, such as high transportation costs and low grindability. Thermal conversion of biomass may be a feasible, renewable, and environmentally friendly solid fuel option in the future." @default.
