- W3274806 abstract "Photon emission accompanying the scattering of two particles A and B: A(q/sub i//sup ..mu../) + B(P/sub i//sup ..mu../ ..-->.. A(q/sub f//sup ..mu../ + B(P/sub f//sup ..mu../) + ..gamma..(K/sup ..mu../) is considered. Here, q/sub i//sup ..mu../(q/sub f//sup ..mu../) and P/sub i//sup ..mu../(P/sub f//sup ..mu../) are the initial (final) four-momenta of particles A and B, respectively, and K/sup ..mu../ is the four momentum of the emitted photon. The bremsstrahlung cross section can be expressed as a function of the five independent variables. The choice of these five kinematical variables is strongly influenced by experimental considerations. Two most typical geometries used in bremsstrahlung experiments are the Harvard geometry and the Rochester geometry. Soft-photon expansion and the soft-photon theorem are discussed; and a comparison is made between the Howard and Rochester cross sections. 9 references. (JFP)" @default.
