- W338199426 abstract "Different commercial forest substrates provide alternatives in cost of production, productivity and seedlings sanity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the morphological and nutrition quality of Tectona grandis (teak) seedlings produced on substrates composed of treated sewage sludge (LET) associated with carbonized rice hulls (CAC) and coconut fiber. The experiment was conducted in a shade house in completely randomized design with six treatments and six replications and four plants per plot. The treatments were formulated in the following proportions: T1 – 100%LET, T2 – 80%LET + 10%CAC + 10%FC, T3 – 60%LET +20%CAC + 20%FC, T4 – 40%LET + 30%CAC + 30%FC, T5 – 20%LET + 40%CAC + 40%FC, T6 – commercial used substrate. The substrates were characterized by their physicochemical properties. At ninety days the seedlings were evaluated for: height, collar diameter, root dry mass, shoot dry mass and total dry mass. Chemical analyses were done from the shoot and thus evaluated the nutritional quality of seedlings through the total levels and nutrients accumulation. The seedlings produced in T3 and T4 treatment were superior according to the biometric attributes. The correlation between of the total levels of Mg, Zn, Cu and B and the total level of these in the substrates; and the correlation between the accumulation of K and Mg in the seedlings and the total level of these in the substrates, indicate their contributions to the nutritional composition of the seedlings. The combined use of sewage sludge, carbonized rice hulls and coconut fiber is a positive contribution to the quality of T. grandis seedlings." @default.
