De que cidadania falam os diversos grupos sociais que ocupam posicoes tao diferentes na sociedade? O volume organizado por Paulo Neves direciona-se no sentido de perceber como essas transformacoes modificam a cidadania nos dias atuais, considerando seus multiplos aspectos a partir da revisao dos seus varios conceitos, chegando ate consideracoes mais especificas como as questoes da educacao no campo e do sistema de cotas nas universidades brasileiras. Discute, ainda, as conexoes entre cidadania e educacao na contemporaneidade, edificadas sob a egide de diferentes realidades empiricas, oferecendo tambem contribuicoes relativas ao debate sobre as acoes educativas. A diversidade do trabalho em pauta permitiu aos autores abordarem significativos aspectos das questoes ligadas a cidadania, do ponto de vista das possibilidades de sua apropriacao pelo campo da educacao. Multiple aspects of the citizenship Abstract In the context of a time marked for intense social mutations, economic and politics, deriving of the globalization and its ample communication channels, which the authors of the book reflect on the subject citizenship, currently it is surrounded by innumerable definitions and questionings. Of that citizenship says the diverse social groups that occupy so different positions in the society? The volume organized for Paulo Neves is directed in the direction to perceive as these transformations modify the citizenship in the current days, considering its multiple aspects from the revision of its some concepts, arriving until more specific considerations as the questions of the education in the field and the system of quotas in the Brazilian universities. It argues, still, the connections between citizenship and education in our days built under direction of different empirical realities, offering its relative contributions to the debate on the educative actions. The diversity of the work in guideline allowed the authors to approach significant aspects of on questions to the citizenship, of the point of view of the possibilities of its appropriation for the field of the education.
