- W379576493 abstract "The research literature describes many different control schemes which have been developed for application to robotic manipulators. The performance of most of these has been evaluated using simulations requiring a model of the manipulator. Since any model only approximates the operation of the real plant, this method of performance evaluation can give an inaccurate measure of the performance improvement provided by the particular control schemes. This paper provides a quantitative measure (the L2. norm [I]) of the performance of five different commonly used control schemes. By applying these schemes to two different robot models this paper shows that performance improvements evaluated by such methods can lead to results which are significantly affected by the choice of robot model, choice of trajectory and the choice of control scheme." @default.
