- W387804551 abstract "At present, it is reported that 8 genera, 26 species, of the chicken tapeworms are found in various places in the world, but intermediate hosts are only found in 6 genera, ll species, of them. In Japan, as the studies on the chicken tapeworms have been made next to nothing, 3 genera, 9 species of them have been reported only. And before 1947, any investigatom had not been made on the life history, therefore the author studied the life histories of 2 genera, 5 species of the chicken tapeworms, -namely, Raillietina {Raillietina) tetragona, Raillietina (R.) echinobothrida, Raillietina (Paronielld) kashiwarensis, Raillietina (Skrjabinia) cesticillus, and Hymenolepis (Weinlandia) carioca, -and found their intermediate hosts. Recently, as the interest in poultry-farming has become stronger, the damages which those chicken tapeworms give on their hosts have begun to be considered seriously, but under the existing circumstances in which the removal of chicken tapeworms by drugs has not yet developed beyond test, we can not find any better way, though it may be negative, than to prevent the chickens from eating those intermediate hosts as much as possible by finding intermediate hosts of tapeworms. For this purpose, it is necessary that we should know first the intermediate hosts of chicken tapeworms which are reported up to now. This study is devoted to this object8 genera, 26 species, of the chicken tapeworms of which have been reported in the world are as follows." @default.
