- W39835080 abstract "A low frequency induced polarization (IP) survey showed that the Woodlawn orebody is highly conductive and polarizable although the IP response is complicated by additional polarizable sources within the footwall rocks. Phase shifts of up to 4° over the frequency range from 0.13 to 1.0 Hz were measured in the vicinity of the orebody. Phase shift anomalies correlated well with PFE anomalies indicating an absence of significant cultural coupl A linear relationship between phase shift and PFE was evident on all the lines surveyed, however, phase shifts were larger than predicted for disseminated sulphide mineralization. Two dimensional, finite element modelling substantiated two major polarizable sources, the Woodlawn orebody itself and the eastern footwall rocks. The latter IP sources dominated polarization response. It did not appear possible to distinguish these sources on the basis of phase ratios which were essentially constant in the region of the IP anomalies. Phase angle IP data from the Black Shale are very similar to data from the Woodlawn orebody. There did not appear to be any way of distinguishing these targets from their PFE or phase shift anomalies. Phase responses over both the Woodlawn orebody and Black Shale appear to be characterized by a small decrease in phase shift from 0.13 to 0.26 Hz and an increase from 0.26 to 1.0 Hz." @default.
