- W4200012169 abstract "Organic photovoltaic (OPV) technology has made quite remarkable progress in solar energy generation in the last few decades due to its economic benefit. The efficiency of the conventional OPV cell can be significantly increased by incorporating plasmonic nanoparticles. In this work, a detailed study on the performance (both electrical and optical) of a single junction OPV cell with silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) as buffer layer is investigated and compared with the conventional PEDOT: PSS buffer layer based OPV cell under AM 1.5 illumination by GPVDM software. The comprehensive simulation results show that the power conversion efficiency is increased to 8.99% by incorporating an Ag NPs layer above the active layer, whereas PEDOT: PSS based OPV cell shows power conversion efficiency of 7.79%• Also, the short circuit current density of 22.14 mAcm<sup>−2</sup> has been found for Ag NPs based OPV cell which represents an enhancement of 15% compared to PEDOT: PSS based OPV cell." @default.
