- W4200217729 abstract "To assess the effects of temperature dependency on the thermal postbuckling behavior of composite laminated plates, a fully nonlinear thermal postbuckling analysis has been described. The governing equations are formulated based on Reddy’s third-order shear deformation plate theory that includes thermo-piezoelectric effects. A two-step perturbation approach is employed to determine buckling temperature and postbuckling equilibrium path. Numerical calculations have been made for (1) antisymmetric angle-ply and symmetric cross-ply laminated plates; (2) hybrid symmetric cross-ply laminated plates with surface-bonded or embedded piezoelectric actuators; (3) midplane symmetric functionally graded metal/ceramic plates with fully covered or embedded piezoelectric actuators; and (4) functionally graded fiber-reinforced composite laminated plates. The results show that in all these cases the plate has lower buckling temperature and postbuckling load–deflection curves when the temperature-dependent properties are taken into account." @default.
