- W4200565620 abstract "To effectively and selectively remove the anionic dyes from the wastewater, millimeter-scale hollow spheres, made from cationic chitosan, dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride and anionic carboxymethyl cellulose, were prepared by a simple one-pot process of physical stirring and chemical graft. By introducing the positively charged monomer of dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride, the cationic hollow sphere showed excellent adsorption capacity towards the anionic dyes. Adsorption kinetics and isotherm data were fitted well with pseudo-second-order and Langmuir models, respectively. The selective removal ratio of anionic reactive black-5 was as high as 99.1% from the reactive black-5/yellow 7 GL mixed solution. The novel hollow sphere not only opens a new avenue for the preparation of large size hollow sphere, but also has broad applications for the selective pollutant removal. • CTS/DMDAAC/CMC millimeter-scale hollow spheres were successfully prepared. • A simple one-pot process of physical stirring and chemical graft was used. • Cationic hollow sphere can selectively remove the anionic dye with high efficiency." @default.
