Studies have shown that a significant proportion of patients suffering from somatic diseases also suffer from illness anxiety.Patients suffering from epilepsy were examined, for whom no data regarding their illness anxiety had previously been obtained.76 epileptics were analyzed regarding their psychological distress (Mini-SCL), fear of recurrence (PA-F) and hypochondriacal traits (MIHT).In general, epileptics experienced the same level of distress and fear in comparison to a norm sample. The fear of recurrence was low in comparison to other somatic diagnosis groups. Untersuchungen zeigen, dass ein erheblicher Anteil somatisch Erkrankter unter beeinträchtigenden Krankheitsängsten leidet.Es wurden Epilepsiepatient*innen untersucht, für die bisher keine Daten zu Krankheitsängsten vorlagen.76 Epilepsiepatient*innen wurden hinsichtlich ihrer Belastung (Mini-SCL), den Ängsten vor einem Voranschreiten der Erkrankung (PA-F) sowie hypochondrischen Merkmalen (MIHT) untersucht.Epilepsiepatient*innen waren nicht belasteter und ängstlicher als Normstichproben, zugleich lagen bei 28% (Gesamtbelastung) bis 45% (Ängstlichkeit) der Befragten klinisch auffällige Werte vor.
