- W4205087235 abstract "In this chapter, we focus on the ISM scale. We study the galaxy size that is one of the direct quantities to evaluate the galaxy evolution. The 1627 deep ALMA maps in Band 6/7 are composed of 1614 maps from the independent fields and 13 maps from the 3 lensing clusters. We analyze this large dataset to investigate the rest-frame far-infrared (FIR) size, (R_mathrm{e, FIR}), and luminosity, (L_mathrm{IR}) relation and the (R_mathrm{e(FIR)}) evolution by a systematic uv-visibility based technique, carefully evaluating the uncertainties by Monte-Carlo simulation in the uv-visibility plane. We find a positive correlation between (R_mathrm{e, FIR}) and (L_mathrm{IR}) at the (>99%) significance level. We also find that (R_mathrm{e, FIR}) of our ALMA sources is comparable to the rest-frame optical one, (R_mathrm{e, opt}), of the quiescent galaxies at (zsim ) 1−3, supporting the evolutional connection from the dusty star-forming to the quiescent galaxies. In the context of previous ALMA studies for the (R_mathrm{e(FIR)}) measurements, this is the first challenge for the statistical study of the (R_mathrm{e(FIR)}) properties in a systematic way." @default.
