- W4205333695 abstract "This work proposed a novel design of IRS-assisted (Intelligent reflection surface) directional reflection for physical layer secure transmission. The main difference between the proposed scheme with current works lies in that this work not only considers the adjustment of phase shifts coefficients, but also utilizes the “directional refection” of IRS to enhance the secrecy performance. The directional refection is based on the physics and electromagnetic path-loss model of IRS, whose basic principle lies in that the IRS can be deliberately designed and oriented to reflect the confidential signals from the legitimate transmitter towards the legitimate receiver to constructively enhance his received signal strength, meanwhile it destructively reduces the signal strength of the eavesdropper located at any other directions, thereby the secrecy performance can be significantly improved. Further, the work reveals more impacts of physical factors of IRS on secrecy performance rather than the phase shift matrix, such as the size of the IRS, and the radio signal wavelength, which provides more insights for the secure engineering system design. The numerical results verified the validity and effectiveness of the proposed scheme." @default.
