In this article, a SAH with circular and semi-circular rib roughness is numerically analysed. This study is carried out in ANSYS Fluent v16 using the RNG k-ε turbulence model. For momentum and energy equations, the second-order upwind scheme is selected. The SIMPLE algorithm is used to couple velocity–pressure. To accurately predict different parameters, a low convergence criterion is chosen for all residuals. Present investigation is done for different e/D values and Re ranging from 3800 to 18,000 in the turbulent flow region. The result showed that the semi-circular rib gives the highest TEF. The TEF has been found to have a maximum value of 1.76 at Reynolds number 15,000." @default.
