- W4205942610 abstract "White light emitting nanostructured composites were produced in this work after annealing of aged thermally oxidized porous silicon (PS) coated by green synthesized Carbon Nanostructures (CNs). According to the photoluminescence (PL) spectra of the nanostructured composites, a broad band emission (white luminescence) was observed from ultraviolet to near infrared. Depending on the presence of hydrogen species, the interaction of nanostructures with oxide layers and the quality of the oxide layers, significantly affected the luminescence mechanism. Intense blue light emitting and cyan light emitting nanostructured composites were also obtained during the production process. In this work, a new method is proposed for obtaining white, blue and cyan luminescence by coating the thermally oxidized PS with the green synthesized CNs, which enables a tremendously cheap, clean and effortless production procedure for the redesign of instruments such as LEDs, photodetectors and biosensors which are extremely important for optoelectronic and biomedical applications. This new method enables the tailoring of the luminescence through thermal oxidation and aging of PS, and annealing of the nanostructured composites." @default.
