- W4206004624 abstract "This paper details the current development and testing of the Assemblers manipulation system. This project is a two year early career NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) technology development effort. Understanding that on-orbit and planetary surface assembly is a challenging domain, NASA LaRC has developed an architecture addressing the need for robotic assembly of structures in locations that prohibit constant human oversight and/or teleoperation. This system is capable of scheduling, reconfiguring, and executing structural assembly tasks. An example concept of operations is presented as well as an overview of the design of the robotic module making up the Assemblers system. This paper also provides an overview of the software, including control algorithms and sensing and perception systems developed. The current status of the project and simulation results are presented and discussed." @default.
