You may have noticed that our recent social media game is strong! We hired a social media coordinator earlier this year. Amanda Er is a radiological technologist and clinician educator working at Changi General Hospital in Singapore and in her spare time she is also a subeditor for Radiopaedia. Amanda's posts are getting a lot of positive attention! Make sure you give her a like on Twitter or Facebook. Our special editions are collections of papers on special interest and topical areas. From 2021 we are going to publish an additional special edition each year. After a Twitter poll for the next themes, we've just launched calls for the next two editions:•Palliative Care: Content deadline November 1st 2021•Leadership: Content deadline May 1st 2022 Submissions should be sent online at: http://www.jmirs.org/ but informal queries about ideas can be discussed with the editor at any time. We're excited to be offering you new content in these vital areas of practice. I'd like to take a moment to offer heartfelt thanks to our amazing reviewers and editorial board. Our submissions have risen substantially (they increased by 44% in 2020) but we've also decreased our editorial speed (the time it takes for a paper to go through the system). Time taken to first decision has dropped from 6.3 weeks to 3.9 weeks (38% decrease) and from submission to final decision from 10.6 weeks to 6.7 weeks (36% decrease). This is great for authors who want to see their work online and in print faster. The hard work of our reviewers and editorial board make this possible. To further assist new (and experienced!) authors with the publication process we've recently created a new “Steps to Submit” document. This will help you navigate the JMIRS online submission system (Editorial Manager) step by step.
