- W4207030818 abstract "To solve the scalability and reliability issues such as single point of failure (SPOF), the distributed controller cluster is widely used in large-scale Software-Defined Networks (SDN). Facing to the unbalanced load allocation problem of controller cluster caused by fluctuating network traffic, dynamic switch migration has been proven to effectively solve it. However, dynamic switch migration is an NP-hard problem, the decision time will be greatly increased with the increase of network scale. Considering this point, we propose ELB-PDQN, an efficient load balancing scheme based on Prioritized Experience Replay Deep Q-Learning (PDQN) for SDN, which aims to efficiently solve the problem of dynamic switch migration in large-scale networks. ELB-PDQN leverages multi-agent deep reinforcement learning and distributed decision-making, which deploys a load balancing module and a PDQN model on each controller in the controller cluster. This method reduces the complexity of the PDQN model and improves the load balancing performance. Moreover, we consider various factors in the network that affect the performance of load balancing to realize a low-complexity and high-performance load balancing mechanism, and introduce the synchronization lock to resolve the balancing conflicts caused by distributed decision-making. Simulation results show that the performance of ELB-PDQN is improved by at least 37.6% and the time required for decision has been significantly reduced compared with the existing scheme." @default.
