- W4207053457 abstract "Copper-based nanoparticles are interesting materials with unique properties. They are chemically stable, have better physical properties, and are compatible with many polymeric systems. The nanoparticles (NPs) can be prepared by the reduction of cheap copper salts into Cu 0 or oxides of copper making it easily scalable. This chapter reviews the current developments in the green synthesis of copper-based NPs facilitated by microbes. This approach is done intracellularly or extracellularly at mild conditions and low temperatures making it an eco-friendly and sustainable process. Microbes such as bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes have been demonstrated to produce copper-based NPs where factors such as pH, reaction time, temperature, and salt concentration affect the size, shape, and stability of the NPs. The resulting NPs have been exploited for various applications. This review summarizes the recent applications of microbially synthesized copper-based NPs in agriculture-related technologies and their future directions." @default.
