- W4210243872 abstract "The present paper investigates the effects of finishing products on seam’s behavior. Treatments had been applied on the fabric before the sewing operation such as mercerizing, softening, stiffening. In fact, this study is based on the seam resistance and the seam elongation evolution. In that, tensile-testing traction has been carried out. The obtained results have shown significant effects on the mechanical behavior either of the fabric or the sewed sample. For example, mercerizing raised remarkably the seam and fabric breaking force and elongation. But, softening treatment dropped mechanical properties of seam and/or fabric. Also, the research has demonstrated that seam’s behavior depended on the characteristics of used fabrics. That is why, only one woven fabric was used in order to determine only the effects of finishing products. In other words, during this study, the same fabric undergone numerous treatments with diverse products concentration to clear up well the influence of finishing products." @default.
