Conjugated polymers have revealed fine potential for corrosion protection of metallic substrates. Consequently, the corrosion protection phenomenon has been explained for conjugated material-derived coatings. Conducting polymers have been filled with nanofillers to form nanocomposite coatings. Especially, nanocarbons (carbon nanotubes, graphene, graphene oxide, etc.) are found efficient for the anti-rusting of metals. Various approaches to develop conjugated polymers and nanocomposite coatings, including the spray method, spin coating, dip coating, electrodeposition, the solution method, chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, and other techniques are discussed in this chapter. Conducting polymers and nanocomposite coatings have superior corrosion confrontation, strength properties, wear resistance, barrier features, substrate adhesion, non-toxicity, and ecofriendliness relative to traditional anti-rust coatings for metals. Conjugated nanomaterials are essential in developing innovative multi-functional anti-corrosion coatings for electronic devices, photovoltaics, energy devices, and metal-based engineering materials." @default.
