- W4211183790 abstract "In the present work, Bismuth Oxide (BO) (Bi 2 O 3 ) nanoparticles were synthesized by solution combustion method using glycine as a fuel and calcined at 600 °C. The crystalline structure, phase and crystallinity was analyzed by using powder X-ray diffraction. The surface morphology was analyzed by using Scanning Electron Microscopy. Energy Dispersive Analysis of X-ray confirms the presence of Bismuth and Oxygen elements. The direct energy band gap calculated by using Wood and Tauc’s relation was found to be 3.34 eV. Bismuth oxide coatings due to its hydrophobic nature can inhibit bacterial attachment to the surface. Composites containing BO are widely applied as protective shielding in radiological CT scans. The functional group, structural analysis, phase purity, surface morphology and energy band gap of the prepared sample are studied. The antimicrobial properties of Bismuth Oxide is studied in this report." @default.
