- W4212849997 abstract "The primary rationale behind this book is to exhibit the significance of the production of chemicals and materials from sustainable resources as confined nonrenewable fossil sources are progressively dwindling. This chapter gives an overview of the book chapters covered from enzymatic to chemo processes to produce a wide array of chemicals/materials. A brief description is provided on enzymatic approaches focusing on the production of methane, organic acid, butanol, and ethanol. As enzymatic approaches have a narrow operating temperature, thermochemical and chemocatalytic conversions where a high temperature and pressure entailed are succinctly focused on producing valuable chemicals (e.g., biochar, hydrocarbon, HMF, furfural, aromatic compounds, and biosurfactant). Carbonaceous and biosorbent materials possess a wide range of applications, including potential sorbents, which are also concisely covered in this chapter. Overall, this chapter helps one understand all related to biochemicals and materials that have been covered in this book." @default.
