The fabrication tolerances of the device are also analyzed with the fabrication errors of <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML display=inline> <mml:mrow class=MJX-TeXAtom-ORD> <mml:mrow class=MJX-TeXAtom-ORD> <mml:mo>±<!-- ± --></mml:mo> <mml:mn>20</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:mrow> <mml:mspace width=thickmathspace /> <mml:mrow class=MJX-TeXAtom-ORD> <mml:mrow class=MJX-TeXAtom-ORD> <mml:mi mathvariant=normal>n</mml:mi> <mml:mi mathvariant=normal>m</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> . Over a 100 nm bandwidth from 1500 nm to 1600 nm, the measured polarization extinction ratios are above 15.4 dB and 10.6 dB for TM and TE polarizations, respectively. The corresponding measured insertion losses are below 2 dB and 2.4 dB.
