- W4214638002 abstract "SAHs have been practised over decades for different utilities like heating/cooling of space, dehydration of agricultural feedstocks and low-temperature process heating in industries. Air has small heat transfer coefficient and therefore the conventional flat plate SAHs have relatively less thermal efficiency. Different artificially roughened geometries were modelled and experimented by different researchers. The existing study deliberates the thermal efficacy evaluation of a black-coated aluminum corrugated plate and a flat plate SAH. It has been observed that thermal efficacy of the corrugated SAH is satisfactory at the climatic condition of Tezpur, Assam, India. The maximum solar radiation recorded was 900 W/m2 (September 2019) and corresponding outlet air temperature was 60 °C. The maximum corrugated plate temperature was 105 °C. The maximum thermal efficiency of corrugated plate SAH was recorded as 68%, which was somewhat greater than a flat plate SAH. Maximum attainable temperature rise in the corrugated SAH over the day was 30° C. This improved SAH may be recommended for dying of different locally available high-value perishable agricultural products." @default.
