- W4214815211 abstract "The memristor is a complex nonlinear system, which dynamic response to external electrical stimulation is well suited for creation of artificial neuromorphic and neurohybrid systems. For a wide range of applications of memristive devices, the development of a universal technological platform based on materials and technological methods compatible with the conventional complementary metal/oxide/semiconductor (CMOS) processes is required. Device stacks of the metal/oxide/metal or metal/oxide/semiconductor types obtained by physical vapor deposition methods fully satisfy this requirement. This chapter demonstrates on certain examples the methods and approaches for creating memristive materials and devices. They include combinations of various metal electrode and oxide materials that provide anionic type (valence-change mechanism) of resistive switching. The interrelated effects of composition and structure of oxide or electrode materials on the performances and reproducibility of the memristive phenomenon are discussed. Key regularities of the memristive effect, technological processes for the fabrication of memristive arrays, as well as functionalities required for their use in neuromorphic systems are considered for original metal-oxide memristive devices based on magnetron-sputtered oxide films with a high concentration of mobile oxygen vacancies/ions." @default.
