- W4220763963 abstract "Biosurfactants are chemical compounds synthesis on the surface of microbial cells. These surface-active compounds are amphipathic molecules comprising hydrophilic and hydrophobic moieties; which imparts antimicrobial, antiadhesive, biodegradability, digestibility, and biocompatible properties to them. Due to their diverse properties of antiadhesiveness, biocompatibility, antimicrobial activity, low toxicity they are also called “green molecules.” Biosurfactants are potent chemical molecules used in varied applications likewise in cosmetics, food additives; pharmaceuticals industries, etc., along with that they are very efficiently used in gene therapy, drug delivery systems, treating cancer, or curing some microbial disease like Tuberculosis. Biosurfactants are quite effective in treating tuberculosis (TB) with their antimicrobial activity; which halts the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis and prevents the spread of infection in the body. In this chapter, we will learn more about biosurfactants—their types, production mechanism, properties, and their applicative role in treating TB caused by M. tuberculosis." @default.
