SMPs are a category of automatically valuable “smart” materials that have dragged deep interest within the space of advanced material fields due to their varied, versatile applications in the broad spectrum. Among others, polycaprolactone (PCL) has gained much interest in medical science areas, like neuronic applications, etc. Fundamental studies on projected SMP systems in biomedicine highlight biodegradability, tailorability, sterilization and biocompatibility, etc. This review focuses on one significant shape memory polymer-based nanocomposite, i.e., PCL, a biodegradable, biocompatible, and nontoxic polymer. This review overviews PCL-based shape memory polymeric nanocomposites for their shape memory behavior for the biomedical field. This review will also report the present and possible future ways in which the PCL-based nanocomposites can be used for various biomedical applications like wound dressing, oesophagal stenosis, self-tightening sutures, bone tissue engineering, vascular graft, drug delivery, and bone defect repair, etc." @default.
