- W4223896201 abstract "In this chapter, a method for the chemical analysis of plants by wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) determining major, minor, and trace elements is described. The methodology includes the sampling and the sample preparation, the description of the instrumentation used in the methodology, information about the calibration and validation standards, and the optimization of the analyzing conditions. WDXRF has become the method of choice for quality control and research purposes in a wide variety of industries. Three factors must be considered in sample preparation for XRF measurement: matrix effects (absorption and enhancement effects), mineralogical structure, and particle size. Finally, the validation of the methodology is described in depth by two means, using reference materials and using independent instrumental techniques." @default.
