The processing maps are constructed and the as-deformed microstructures are observed to investigate the effects of internal electromagnetic stirring on the hot deformation of 2219 Al alloy. The results show that the internal electromagnetic stirring expends of stability domain, especially increasing the corresponding range of strain temperature. The suitable deformation parameters of internal electromagnetic stirring direct chill casting 2219 Al alloy includes a relatively lower strain temperature and a relatively higher strain rate. The internal electromagnetic stirring promotes the formation of more homogeneous as-deformed microstructures and more dynamic recrystallization grains." @default.
