- W4225698727 abstract "The global pollution of aquatic systems give rise to a detrimental threat to human beings and aquatic ecosystem. Owing to high porosity and surface area, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerged as novel adsorbents for entrapping the contaminants present in aquatic system. The highlighted features of the present chapter provide a comprehensive narration on the progress in the removal of emerging aquatic pollutants including organic compounds, heavy metals, pesticides and PPCP using MOF based adsorbents. A number of different issues regarding the synthesis, ultrastructural modifications, and applications of MOFs are explicitly discussed for the elimination of such impurities. Furthermore, this chapter features several obstructions that are related with process scale up. Therefore, this chapter will be highly beneficial to the readers for gaining an in-depth knowledge on MOF-based adsorbents along with their remarkable potential in the elimination of various aquatic pollutants." @default.
