- W4225729326 abstract "In the later stage of oil field well utilization, oil storage can no longer meet the needs of exploitation, and many oil or gas wells have been abandoned. However, geothermal resources are very abundant in these wells. There is a strong correlation between geothermal wells and oil/gas wells. If the abandoned oil/gas wells could be directly used for geothermal development, a lot of money can be saved and the drilling time of geothermal wells can be greatly reduced. Based on the well patterns commonly used in abandoned oil/gas wells, two kinds of well layout schemes are proposed, which combine the injection and production well patterns commonly used in oil fields with the exploitation of geothermal energy. The heat recovery dynamics of the system were simulated, and different injection and production methods were analyzed. The effects of injection and production methods on system temperature, pressure, mass flow rate, and heat extraction rate were investigated. The results show that under the same simulated conditions, the heat production performance of the two-injection and one-production series is better than that of the one-injection and one-production series. For power generation demand, the heat recovery rates of Case1 and Case2 are 37.09% and 41.66%, respectively, and their life spans are 40.0a and 37.9a, respectively. For heating demand, the heat recovery rate of Case1 and Case2 is 37.09% and 42.68%, respectively, and the service life is 40.0a and 40.0a, respectively. Those results provide a good guide for the optimal design of abandoned oil/gas wells." @default.
