- W4226048447 abstract "Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is among the most prevalent malignancies globally and is the second chief cause of tumor-associated fatalities throughout the world. The significance of angiogenesis in tumor pathology is underlines by the hypervascular nature of HCC tumors. Numerous angiogenic pathways are known to be dysregulated during the progression and advancement of HCC, suggesting angiogenesis as a potential targeted treatment strategy for advanced HCC. Tumor-induced angiogenesis is associated with an interplay between various pathways as well as factors with vascular endothelial growth factor as the key player. Nevertheless, the clinical significance of recently recognized angiogenic signaling pathways in HCC treatment is still unclear. Effectively monitoring the patient’s treatment response is a major challenge in managing patients with advanced HCC and assists in deciding whether to continue the treatment or opt for a second-line treatment. This chapter addresses various approved antiangiogenic treatments, examines novel strategies to improve the efficiency of antiangiogenic treatments, and focuses on accurate imaging evaluation of angiogenesis." @default.
