Potentiodynamic and coulostatic results indicate that Fe3O4 starts to cover the iron surface at −0.8 V(SCE), and γ-Fe2O3 is formed onto Fe3O4 at −0.4 V in a weak alkaline buffer solution. In the galvanostatic reduction of the passive iron, the acoustic signal-cathodic charge (Qc) curve showed two linear parts, and the transition point obtained by the intersection of the two straight lines corresponds to the potential at which the reduction of γ-Fe2O3 was complete." @default.
