- W4229608205 abstract "Vaccine development and usages over the years has accomplished significant reduction in infections and diseases. Improved knowledge of immune protection and big leap in genetic engineering have allowed the induction of variety of new types of vaccines through manipulation of DNA, RNA, proteins, and sugars. Creation of attenuated mutants, expression of potential antigens in live vectors, and purification and direct synthesis of antigens in new systems have immensely improved the vaccine technology. Both infectious and noninfectious diseases are now within the realm of vaccinology. The profusion of new vaccines enables aiming new populations to be targeted for vaccination for cure and removal of infectious agents from their natural reservoirs. But, parallel to ancient infection like malaria and new infections like human immunodeficiency virus, a potent vaccine is still elusive posing a bigger challenge to the scientific world." @default.
