- W4229685674 abstract "Abstract This chapter describes the development of trucks by Eduardo. In 1957, Eduardo learned, probably through Ricardo Martín Esperanza of the Caja de Ahorros of Orense, that the Portuguese Ministry of Defense needed 300 new trucks to serve their armies in Mozambique and Angola. At that time, Eduardo had no license to make trucks. All the same, he made a prototype of a four-by-four, all-terrain vehicle, and applied to take part in the competition. Mercedes, ACLO, and Bedford also announced their participation. Eduardo's prototype was, of course, built in Villaverde. He himself did the hard work, assisted by a specialist named Antonio Rama, and a hearse builder. The wheels of the truck were 600 millimeters thick. The originality of the wheels, known as “Lipsoyds,” was that they were very heavy." @default.
