This formula simplifies calculation because no numerical solution of stiff differential equations is required and it reduces the number of variables from 14 to 3. Moreover, the required variables can be directly found from real‐life measurements of thrombin generation (e.g. from the average of a set of normal plasmas or from values that are found in an individual patient).
