• W4230203430 abstract "本研究は, いくつかの瀬や淵を含む区間において, 河川の地形や水理の観点から河川の階層構造を規定し, サクラマス幼魚が越冬環境として選択する河川構造の特性を明らかにすることを目的とした.調査は, 2001年12月中旬～下旬に北海道札幌市郊外を流れる石狩川水系真駒内川と北海道西南部積丹半島北部に位置する積丹川でおこなった. この2つの河川においてセグメント1に位置付けされる自然河川のReachを最上位の構造とし, それより下位のChannel unit, SubunitおよびMicrohabitatの3つの階層に区分し, サクラマス幼魚の越冬環境について検討した.検討の結果, 越冬期のサクラマス幼魚は, Channel unitでは河床勾配が急な早瀬や瀬に比べ, 河床勾配が比較的緩やかな平瀬, 淵において生息密度が高い傾向が見られたが, 生息密度のばらつきが大きく, 明確な傾向は示されなかった. Subunitスケールでは, 淵や平瀬の河岸付近を構成していたフルード数の小さな領域Subunit (Fr<0.125) に対する選択性が高い傾向がみられ, このタイプの面積と生息密度には正の相関が認められた. Microhabitatスケールでは, カバーの被覆度が多く流速がきわめて遅いグループに対する選択性が高かった. SubunitとMicrohabitatの階層性について検討したところ, 前述したSubunitとMicrohabitatの組み合わせは, 他の組み合わせより高い選択性と生息密度を示した. これらの結果は, 真駒内川および積丹川の両河川において同様に得られた. したがって, サクラマス幼魚の越冬環境は, SubunitとMicrohabitatの2つの階層的な河川構造に対応しており, 淵や平瀬の河岸付近に連続して広がるフルード数が小さな領域 (Subunit) とそのなかにさらに流速が遅く, カバーが存在する微生息場所 (Microhabitat) の組み合わせであることが示唆された.本研究により, これまでサクラマス幼魚の越冬環境として知見のあったMicrohabitatの環境特性に加え, その周辺のフルード数が小さく示されるSubunitの重要性が示された. この2つの階層は, サクラマス幼魚の越冬期に加えて, 越冬直前の生息場所としても重要であると考えられる. したがって, このような河川構造の階層性は, 季節によって変化する連続した生息場所として捉えることができる.北海道のような積雪寒冷地では, 河川における越冬場所の減少がサクラマス幼魚の生残におよぼす影響が大きく, 越冬環境を考慮した川づくりが必須となる. このとき, Reachスケールに着目した河道整備により, 越冬環境となりえるSubunitとMicrohabitatを有するChannel unitの保全・創出を意識しなければならない. また, Microhabitatは, 主に倒流木や河岸の倒木, 積雪による水際植生の倒伏によるものであり, 水際の微地形や植生にも留意しなけばならない. これらを踏まえ, 次の3点を越冬環境に考慮した川づくりに向けた提言とする.(1) 低水路が直線の場合は, 砂州の形成を促がす水制や導流堤を用いることにより河岸に水衝部を創出する.(2) 自然河道もしくは改修区間でも復元しつつある場合は, 増水時の水衝部に着目し, 蛇行に起因するM型の淵, 側方洗掘型の淵を保全する.(3) 上記のような増水時における水衝部の河岸の微地形や生育する植生を保全する." @default.
