- W4232006212 abstract "The hydraulic conductivity of saturated soil is the constant which, for a given soil, relates the rate of water transport in that soil to the hydraulic gradient or driving force causing water to move. The methods have the advantage that the water present in the soil is used for the measurement. Diserens first developed a technique using auger holes for the measurement of hydraulic conductivity. The auger-hole method used for the determination of hydraulic conductivity in saturated soils involves the construction of a cavity below the water table with a minimum of soil disturbance. To calculate the hydraulic conductivity of individual layers, where measurements have been made in each, make the calculations described above for each set of measurements. The diameter of the cavity is very important in the calculation of the hydraulic conductivity, so that a stable cavity is mandatory for reproducible results." @default.
