Une analyse théorique du transfert de masse à une électrode cylindrique et rotative munie de lames de frotteur a fourni l'équation suivante sans dimensions: où w est le nombre de lames de frotteur disposées symétriquement, d est l'épaisseur de la lame de frotteur et R1 est le rayon de l'électrode frottée. On définit NuR, ReR et Sc en fonction des paramètres de la cellule et de l'électrolyte. Les résultats expérimentaux obtenus par la réduction des ions d'oxygène et de ferrocyanure indiquent qu'on peut ainsi prévoir les taux de transfert à une exactitude de ±5% lorsque Sc excède 200. On démontre que le système de deux lames de frotteur produit un accroissement des taux de transfert de masse correspondant à un facteur de 7 à 8 par rapport à une électrode cylindrique et rotative qui est dépourvue de lames de frotteur." @default.
