- W4233873669 abstract "This chapter confines the discussion of multi-way correspondence analysis and its application to a three-way contingency table. It focuses on describing and applying the Tucker3 decomposition as a way to perform multi-way correspondence analysis on a three-way contingency table. Pearson's chi squared statistic for a three-way contingency table consisting of symmetrically associated variables can be partitioned into four terms; three of these terms reflect the three combinations of pair-wise association while the fourth term reflected the three-way association between the variables. The row, column and tube component values may be used as the standard coordinates of the row, column and tube points in a visual display of the asymmetric association between the three variables. The numerical heart of the variants of multi-way correspondence analysis is the partition of the Pearson chi-squared statistic when the association is symmetrically structured, and of the Marcotorchino index when the variables are asymmetrically associated." @default.
