- W4233884541 abstract "This chapter reports thermal and hydrothermal investigations comparing mesoporous -Al203 membrane with single and double dopant membranes prepared by the sol-gel method. Improvements in the hydrothermal stability of mesoporous y-Al203 by transition or rare-earth (La3+) cations are discussed, along with the effectiveness of double dopant (Ga3+-La3+). The thermal and hydrothermal stability of nine types of membranes fabricated on an asymmetric porous a-A1203 support by means of a dip-coating process was characterized by H2 gas permeation at 500°C. In order to examine the stability of supported doped and non-doped γ- Al203 mesoporous membranes in steam at higher temperatures, several kinds of γ- Al203-based composite membranes were fabricated in the chapter by the sol-gel technique. The hydrothermal stability characteristics of the composite alumina membranes were examined by evaluating their gas permeation properties after exposure to steam at 500°C. The pore-structure evolution during hydrothermal treatment was also studied directly on the membranes by nano-permporometer." @default.
