- W4235903753 abstract "The use of low and high power lasers (LPLs and HPLs) has increased in implant dentistry due to a large spectrum of applications in soft and hard tissues. There are several clinical indications for laser therapy and laser surgery in modern implantology, aiming to improve the dental implant procedures and to provide more comfort to patients. This chapter describes the main clinical applications of lasers in implantology range from bone biomodulation, management of postoperative inflammatory signs, surgical procedures, and the treatment of periimplantitis. Different laser devices and different irradiation parameters may give different results for osseointegration. Some advantages of laser use in second-stage surgery of dental implants are increased hemostasis, facilitating easier visual access to the cover screw, production of a protective coagulum as an aid to healing, and patient comfort during and after treatment." @default.
