- W4237066491 abstract "The defects in α, β and γ subunits responsible for ATPase activity of complex ECF1·F0 was found to destroy the function of the H+-K+-pump without any effect on the H+-K+-antiport. A defect in the ɛ subunit breaks the regulation of pump operation on the part of a cell turgor without the influence of such a defect on the operations of these systems. Under the defective h1 (subunit m.w. 24000) of ECF0 both systems work normally. However, the systems lose DCCD-sensitivity and, in addition, the H+-K+-pump loses the sensitivity to variations of external osmotic pressure. The defect in the h2 subunit (m.w. 18 000) leads to the cessation of pump activity and DCCD-sensitivity of the H+-K+-antiport. The only mutation in the unc-claster producing the complete blocking of the operation of both systems is related to a defect in the minor h3 subunit (m.w. 8400) of F0 which is the DCCD-sensitive and apparently the gate component of the H+-channel. The data confirm the purpose model on associations of the F1·F0 and the separate F0 with the TrkA system of K+ accumulation for the decrease of energy dissipation during low-energy processes like glycolysis [1–3]." @default.
