- W4239510442 abstract "Abstract Ce.cem'bi.a. N.L. fem. n. Cecembia arbitrary name derived from the abbreviation CCMB (Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology). Bacteroidetes / Cytophagia / Cytophagales / Cyclobacteriaceae / Cecembia The three species currently classified to the genus Cecembia form rod‐shaped cells, 0.5–0.7 μm in width and 1.0–3.0 μm in length. The organisms do not possess motility, and flagella are not seen; endospores are not observed. The organisms stain Gram‐negative, and the colonies are red pigmented. The species of the genus Cecembia are slightly halophilic and slightly alkaliphilic; some species are slightly thermophilic. The organisms are chemoorganotrophic and strictly aerobic. Cytochrome c oxidase and catalase are positive. Carbohydrates, polyols, organic acids, and amino acids are used as carbon and energy sources, but growth factors are necessary for some species to grow in minimal defined medium. The major respiratory quinone is menaquinone 7 (MK‐7). The polar lipid profile is dominated by phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), and the fatty acids are predominantly iso‐branched, monounsaturated, and hydroxy. The Isolated from hydrothermal areas and a saltwater lake. DNA G + C content (%) : 39.5–41.0 (Genome). Type species : Cecembia lonarensis Anil Kumar et al. 2012b VP ." @default.
