- W4240323488 abstract "Within the recent 20 years the WHO constantly registers a trend towards the annual increase in number of patients (especially men) with the liver disease in all countries. Currently, about 15 % of married couples worldwide have problems with the natural onset of pregnancy, with a 50–60 % proportion of the «male» factor in infertility of families. Under absence of data on origins of disorders of the spermatozoa maturation, the so-called idiopathic infertility is distinguished. It is likely that hepatitis, as a primary disease, may become one of the determinants of such idiopathic male infertility. The aim of our study was a determination of the prognostic significance of the nitric oxide metabolism and lipoperoxidation processes in advancement of spermatogenesis disorders in rats with the toxic hepatitis. Our study of the prooxidant status of rats with the CCl4-induced hepatitis enabled to find a veracious increase, in the liver homogenate, of the primary and secondary lipid peroxidation products content by 1,6 and 1,4 times respectively. At the level of the entire organism, the intensity of free radical oxidation processes was less pronounced than in the liver. We found a boosting of the primary lipid peroxidation reactions in form of a 24 % increase in content of the diene conjugates in the serum of rats with hepatitis. Studies of the state of nitric oxide (NO) metabolism have shown a tendency of increase in content of the nitrate and nitrite anions in the liver homogenate of rats with the CCl4 intoxication as well as a reliable enlargement in concentration of the primary of nitrosative stress product (the nitrite anion) in serum. Our experiments also showed that the toxic hepatitis veraciously changed all examined indicators of the spermogram, with the percentage of the motile sperm as the only exception. We interpreted this impact as a susceptibility of spermatozoa to oxidative attack and nitrosative stress that impair their nuclear DNA and cause reduction of their mobility." @default.
