- W4243437395 abstract "The presence of unprotected left main coronary artery (ULMCA) disease is a common finding in patients undergoing coronary angiography, typically observed in approximately 5–7% and generally associated with concurrent triple vessel disease. Until relatively recently the conventional form of treatment for the stenosed ULMCA has been coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). The introduction of drug-eluting stents (DES) resulted in a significant reduction in restenosis and target lesion revascularization (TLR) following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Each individual with ULMCA disease differs, both with regards to their clinical condition and comorbidities as well as their coronary anatomy. The traditional scores used by cardiothoracic surgeons are the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) score and the Logistic European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation (EuroSCORE). Dedicated bifurcation stents have become a novel topic for consideration by interventional cardiologists." @default.
