- W4244807135 abstract "The nucleotide composition of the RNA in the soluble fraction and in the particle fraction of several species of bacteria was analyzed. Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Alkaligenes faecalis, and Sarcina lutea were used here, as their DNA's differ considerably from each other in their nucleotide composition. The RNA of the soluble fraction showed a slight species specificity and a slight dependence on the DNA composition. The nucleotide composition of the soluble RNA is different from that of the particle RNA; the former has a higher guanylic and cytidylic acid content than the latter in every bacteria. The particle RNA;s in different species of bacteria show similar nucleotide composition." @default.
