- W4245637071 abstract "‘Really Good Stuff’ (RGS) provides us with a snapshot of the changing themes in medical education and the creative ways in which medical school faculty are addressing these events. The title ‘Really Good Stuff’ was created for this section of the journal to encourage projects not yet completed, not fully evaluated, and sometimes not even successful. The section is itself a work in progress and continues to evolve and change to reflect the changes facing medical education. I was struck by the changing focus of the reports selected for this issue of RGS as I attempted to group them into appropriate categories for the Table of Contents. The majority of the reports could fall into something generally called ‘Curriculum’, focused on medical student educational programmes; then the next largest category is something I have named ‘Simulation or application of technology’. In past years, the simulation/technology category has been the largest. Smaller categories include continuing professional development and residency education and then there are the reports that were numerous enough to be a category of their own, focused on ‘the arts in medicine’. A number of the reports in this issue describe approaches to ‘orphan topics’ − those topics that are often neglected in the larger medical education programme, ranging from substance abuse, geriatrics, evidence-based medicine and patient mental health to sign language and advocacy for breast feeding. I hope you enjoy reading this issue of ‘Really Good Stuff’ and will consider submitting your own work to future issues of this feature. If you, or a colleague, are working on a new idea, bright or otherwise, I encourage you to consider submitting it to ‘Really Good Stuff’. We are only as really good as the stuff that is submitted." @default.
